Phander, in the Ghizer district, is a quiet valley of terraced fields, trout streams and a still, jade-green lake. It sits on the road toward Shandur Pass — a natural overnight stop on the Gilgit–Chitral route.
In October, the poplars and fields turn gold, and the whole valley glows.
