The Karakoram Highway climbs to Khunjerab Pass at 4,693 m, on the border with China. The 1,300 km highway from Hasan Abdal to the pass is one of the highest paved roads in the world — sometimes called the Eighth Wonder of the World.

The air is thin, the ranges are snow-capped and there is a real sense of standing at the edge of the map.
