Gilgit-Baltistan · Nagar Valley
The Shining Wall.
Rakaposhi (7,788 m) — 'Shining Wall' in Burushaski — rises between the Nagar and Bagrote valleys. It is among the few peaks on Earth that drop almost 6,000 m from summit to base in one unbroken sweep.
You can see it from the Karakoram Highway near Gilgit and Hunza, or head to a viewpoint for sunrise when the ice catches fire.
